The Bioactives Lab has a long-standing expertise in elucidating metabolic pathways in
plants and microorganisms. The group focuses on deciphering the metabolism of the
plant hormone strigolactone and on understanding the genesis of important regulatory
metabolites, such as zaxinone, from carotenoids and their conversion. The Bioactives
lab is addressing these questions at gene, metabolite and regulatory level. Our aim is to
understand these metabolic processes and to utilize identified genes and metabolites
for elucidating biological processes related to development, stress response and
rhizospheric interactions
