Research Interests

The emergence of Striga poses a significant global threat to agriculture, severely impacting crop yields and food security. I am particularly interested in combating Striga by developing strategies to clear infested soils and disrupt its parasitic cycle. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Striga germination and host interaction is crucial for effective control. By exploring these processes, we can develop targeted approaches to suppress Striga infestations and protect crops. Additionally, I am interested in genome editing to enhance crop resilience against environmental stresses. Genome editing can help improve plant traits, making them more adaptable to climate change and food security challenges. Addressing these agricultural threats through molecular and genetic innovations is essential for a sustainable future.
